independence Day Celebrated at K.M. Convent School

Jalandhar, August 15, 2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at K.M. Convent School with great enthusiasm, zeal, and patriotic spirit. The occasion was attended by the Principal, teachers, parents, students, and the Chief Guest, Mrs. Anita Nanda, a distinguished educationist with 38 years of teaching experience at the national and international levels.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and parents. Principal Mrs. Shikha Duggal, in her welcome address, extended her heartfelt greetings to all the guests and parents present on the special occasion. Thereafter, she accorded a warm and respectful welcome to the Chief Guest, Mrs. Anita Nanda, by presenting her with a bouquet.

The cultural programme featured captivating dance performances by the students of LKG, UKG, Nursery, and Class I. The tiny tots of Pre-Nursery also won everyone’s hearts with an adorable ramp walk.

Further strengthening the spirit of patriotism, Divyanka, Harjas, and Gurpreet presented a patriotic poem. This was followed by an inspiring thought by Harshil Dhawan, based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

Chief Guest Mrs. Anita Nanda appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and encouraged the children to become responsible, confident, and patriotic citizens.

The programme also featured an impressive march past by the students, showcasing their discipline, confidence, unity, and remarkable patriotic spirit.

At the conclusion of the programme, Principal Mrs. Shikha Duggal delivered the vote of thanks. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, school management, parents, teachers, students, and everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana’, filling the entire atmosphere with a sense of pride, unity, and patriotism. 

The celebration was a beautiful blend of patriotism, talent, discipline, and youthful enthusiasm, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and empowering the future leaders of the nation.
